Our history
is the sum of every moment
Looije OPFH owes its name to Looije Tomaten, a Dutch family business founded by J.M. Looije in 1946.
1946
1998
The brothers Jos and Vincent Looije come to Spain to expand their cultivation and achieve 12 months of production. Looije Águilas is born.
Looije centralizes its production from the Spanish market, being since this year its production and commercial headquarters.
2005
2010
Looije creates an growers organization with growers from Águilas, Mazarrón and Almería. It achieves a high quality and flavourful production all year round under the Sarita brand.
Looije opens new office and packhouse building to enable the packaging of 13 million kilos of cherry tomatoes.
2018
2024
Since 2019, we build high-tech greenhouses to increase production per m2 and exceed new standards of excellence.

Our mission is to contribute to the development of our region and society and to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Thus, we jointly market the production of growers from the areas of Águilas, Mazarrón and Almería to offer a high quality and tasty product all year round under the Sarita brand.

Respect for the environment
We use integrated production techniques (biological control, pollinators, etc.) to reduce the consumption of phytosanitary products. We also make efficient use of water, as we use high-frequency irrigation techniques adjusted by means of climate sensors and rainwater collection.
In addition, our offices are equipped with solar panels that supply clean energy to all our facilities.
State-of-the-art facilities
Our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art tools that optimise the working process to the maximum. In addition to these innovations, all greenhouses have terminals installed for task control that send the information directly to a central computer.
